Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, In Political Rally in Sika, Rajasthan
Rajasthan / Sikar :
In a fiery address at a public rally in Sikar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on the Ashok Gehlot-led Rajasthan government, accusing them of running a 'Loot ki Dukaan' (loot's shop) and 'Jhooth ka Bazaar' (market of lies) in the state. He further claimed that the latest product of their alleged misdeeds is the 'Laal Diary' (Red Diary), which contains the Congress party's 'dark secrets' and will lead to their defeat in the upcoming assembly elections.
PM Modi asserted, "The Congress has only run 'Loot ki Dukaan' and 'Jhooth ka Bazaar' in Rajasthan in the name of running the government... It is being said that the party's dark deeds are recorded in the diary."
The Prime Minister's remark was a retort to senior Congress leader rahul-gandhi" target="_blank">Rahul Gandhi's 'mohabbat ki dukaan' (shop of love) slogan. The political jibe intensified the already charged atmosphere in the state ahead of the crucial elections.
In response to PM Modi's accusations, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot dismissed the notion of the 'Red Diary' and instead challenged the Prime Minister to discuss 'red cylinders and red tomatoes', alluding to the rising prices and economic concerns faced by the public. CM Gehlot labeled the 'Red Diary' as a mere imagination, and he criticized PM Modi for allegedly ignoring the real issues affecting the people of Rajasthan.
The controversy surrounding the 'Red Diary' began when Congress MLA Rajendra Singh Gudha, who was dismissed for criticizing the state government's failure to ensure women's safety, dramatically displayed a red diary in the state assembly. He claimed that the diary could potentially expose Gehlot and his camp. However, Gudha was subsequently removed from the assembly and suspended for the rest of the session.
According to reports, the 'Red Diary' is rumored to contain sensitive information regarding pay-offs made by the Gehlot camp to independent candidates and other MLAs during the 2020 rebellion led by Sachin Pilot, with the aim of ensuring victory for their candidates.
As the assembly elections draw closer, the 'Red Diary' controversy continues to generate curiosity and political tension in Rajasthan. The allegations and counter-allegations between the ruling Congress and the opposition BJP have heightened the stakes, making it a closely watched battleground for the upcoming polls.
