'We don't want EVMs, we want ballot paper': Congress chief Kharge

Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge on Tuesday demanded that EVMs be replaced with ballot papers.
The statement came after the party blamed EVMs for INDIA bloc's recent assembly election rout in Maharashtra.
Congress spokesperson Jairam Ramesh had alleged that the outcome was brought about by disturbing the level playing field in a targeted way. His party colleague Pawan Khera also raised concerns about EVMs.
Kharge has publicly raised concerns about electronic voting machines on several occasions. Recently at an event he cited remarks by US business tycoon Elon Musk suggesting that such devices could be compromised.
Kharge was also at the forefront of a back-and-forth exchange with the Election Commission after his party blamed the voting process for its loss in Haryana.
In the recent Maharashtra assembly elections the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance secured a decisive victory over the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) in a one-sided contest. The Mahayuti swept 230 out of 288 seats with the BJP winning 132 Shiv Sena 57 and the
