Restoration of Thousand Pillar Temple's Kalyana Mandapam
Telangana / Warangal :
Union Minister for Tourism and Culture, G. Kishan Reddy, unveiled plans to dedicate the restored Kalyana Mandapam of the historical Thousand Pillar Temple to devotees by the end of February. During his visit to Warangal, he inspected the final stages of restoration works at the temple, signaling the near-completion of the project.
Addressing the media, Minister Kishan Reddy highlighted the significant efforts made by the BJP-led government at the center in preserving and promoting cultural heritage sites in Telangana. He revealed that an allocation of ₹60 crore has been made for the restoration of the renowned Ramappa temple, recently inscribed as a World Heritage site. Additionally, infrastructure developments, such as the construction of guest houses and the introduction of boating facilities at the Ramappa lake, aim to enhance the visitor experience.
Emphasizing the importance of preserving historical landmarks, Minister Kishan Reddy announced plans to install a new lighting system at the Warangal Fort to enhance its aesthetic appeal. These initiatives, undertaken by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), reflect the government's commitment to cultural conservation.
Furthermore, Minister Kishan Reddy disclosed the sanctioning of the Sammakka-Saralamma Tribal University in Mulugu district and the establishment of special stalls for tribal communities at the Asia's largest tribal fair, the Sammakka-Saralamma Jatara in Medaram.
However, Minister Kishan Reddy expressed disappointment over the lack of cooperation from the Congress-led state government regarding investigations into alleged corruption related to the Kaleswaram project. He criticized the government's reluctance to grant permission for assessments by the National Dam Safety Authority (NDSA) at the Medigadda barrage, accusing political parties of exploiting the issue for electoral gains.
In conclusion, Minister Kishan Reddy asserted the BJP's unwavering commitment to serving the people and dismissed attempts by opposition parties to sow discord. He reaffirmed confidence in the BJP's prospects in the upcoming elections, emphasizing the party's track record of governance and development.
