Tejashwi Yadav Criticizes Nitish Kumar's Return to NDA: Political Storm in Bihar
India / Bihar :
In a fiery session of the Bihar Legislative Assembly, Tejashwi Yadav, the leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), openly expressed his discontent with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's decision to abandon the 'Mahagathbandhan' and rejoin the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Yadav's tone was aggressive as he addressed Kumar, whom he had previously regarded as a paternal figure, likening him to the character "Dashrath" from the epic 'Ramayan.' He voiced his feeling of betrayal, stating, "I always considered Nitish Kumar as 'Dashrath.' I don't know what reasons forced him to ditch the 'Mahagathbandhan.'"
Pointing out the inconsistency in Kumar's political moves, Yadav questioned the rationale behind his actions, emphasizing the promises made during their coalition government. He mocked Kumar's political maneuvering, stating, "When you were trying to betray BJP, we do not want to come with you, but there is pressure from leaders across the country to unite in the 2024 elections and work to defeat Modi ji. Chacha is gone, now bhateeja will raise the flag."
Yadav's criticism extended to Kumar's record-setting ninth term as Chief Minister, highlighting the unprecedented nature of his tenure. He also questioned the reliability of Kumar's allegiance, particularly his recent return to the NDA fold, suggesting that the BJP's apprehension of the 'Mahagathbandhan' government in Bihar played a significant role in Kumar's decision.
Kumar's unexpected reunion with the NDA two weeks prior had triggered political upheaval in Bihar. Yadav's impassioned address in the assembly underscored the deep-seated tensions and uncertainties surrounding Kumar's political choices. The opposition's scrutiny of Kumar's decisions reflects the widening political divide and unpredictability in Bihar's political landscape.
As Bihar remains a focal point of political discourse, observers and citizens alike are closely monitoring the unfolding events, recognizing the implications of Kumar's decision on the state's political trajectory.
