Congress to Contest 16 Seats in Kerala in Upcoming Lok Sabha Polls, IUML to Contest 2
Leader of Opposition in the Kerala state assembly, V D Satheesan, announced that the Congress Party will contest 16 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls in Kerala, as part of the United Democratic Front (UDF) coalition. The allocation of seats has been finalized, with the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) set to contest two seats. Despite IUML's initial demand for an additional Lok Sabha seat, issues have been resolved through discussions, potentially leading to the allocation of a Rajya Sabha seat instead. This announcement reflects the strategic seat distribution within the UDF alliance, emphasizing collaboration among coalition partners ahead of the polls.
