Many like you have come and gone: Smriti Irani slams Rahul Gandhi
Tamil Nadu / Chennai :
Union Minister Smriti Irani delivered a scathing critique of rahul-gandhi" target="_blank">Rahul Gandhi, asserting the indomitable strength and unity of India. Speaking at an election campaign event in Chennai in support of BJP candidate Vinoj P Selvam, Irani dismissed Gandhi's significance, stating, "Many like you have come and gone; Hindustan is, was, and will remain."
Emphasizing the historic significance of the completion of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Irani condemned the Congress's opposition to the Pran Pratishtha ceremony. She highlighted instances in states like West Bengal and Kerala where members of the INDI alliance faced repercussions for expressing devotion to Lord Ram.
"Their arrogance was evident as they even rejected the leadership of Ram," Irani added, underscoring the importance of respecting religious sentiments and cultural heritage.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing a public gathering in Rajasthan, criticized the Congress for its stance on the Ram Temple issue. Modi highlighted the Congress's opposition to the Pran Pratishtha ceremony and its expulsion of a party member who attended the event.
"Can you imagine the country without Lord Ram?" PM Modi questioned, urging voters to consider the significance of the Ram Mandir's construction.
In the backdrop of these developments, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry are gearing up for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections scheduled for April 19. The elections hold significance as they mark the first phase of polling in the region.
During the 2019 general elections, the DMK-led Secular Progressive Alliance secured a landslide victory in Tamil Nadu, winning 38 out of 39 seats. The Congress, a part of the alliance, emerged victorious in eight seats.
The upcoming polls will be conducted in seven phases across the country, with the counting of votes scheduled for June 4.
