India / Bengaluru :
Rameshwaram Cafe, located in Bengaluru's Brookfield area, is poised to reopen following an explosion earlier this month, with stringent security measures in place. Owner Raghavendra Rao affirmed that all precautionary steps have been taken to ensure the safety of patrons at the establishment.
"We are re-opening the cafe tomorrow. We start our day with the national anthem. It is our mantra. We have given all CCTV footage and information. We are cooperating with them. We are very thankful to the government for helping us reopen the cafe so soon. NIA will soon bring the culprit before us. We have taken all precautions before reopening," said Rao, as reported by ANI.
Rao emphasized the cooperation with authorities and expressed gratitude for the government's support in the aftermath of the incident. Measures such as the installation of additional CCTV cameras and assigning personnel for surveillance within the premises have been implemented to enhance security.
The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has transferred the probe of the Rameshwaram Cafe blast to the National Investigation Agency (NIA), which has initiated an investigation into the incident. Following a visit to the blast site by an NIA team, the case was re-registered, and efforts to identify and apprehend the perpetrator have intensified.
The NIA has announced a reward of ₹10 lakh for information leading to the arrest of the bomber and released a picture captured from CCTV footage showing the suspect wearing distinctive attire. Stressing the confidentiality of informants' identities, the agency seeks public cooperation in identifying the individual responsible for the blast.
The explosion, which occurred on March 1 during the busy lunch hour, resulted in injuries to several individuals. The NIA, in its pursuit of the suspect, has released a video seeking citizens' assistance in determining his identity.
Bengaluru Police had earlier registered a case under the stringent Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and Explosives Substances Act in connection with the explosion at Rameshwaram Cafe, highlighting the severity of the incident and the authorities' commitment to ensuring justice.
