India / New Delhi :
rahul-gandhi" target="_blank">Rahul Gandhi, a senior member of the Indian National Congress, has received a new lease on his former government residence at 12 Tughlaq Lane as a result of a Supreme Court order. This judgement was made barely one day after he was reinstated as a Lok Sabha member in accordance with the apex court's verdict.
Gandhi temporarily shifted to his mother Sonia Gandhi's house in the capital earlier this year after leaving the mansion at 12, Tughlaq Lane. His exclusion from the Lok Sabha as a result of a criminal defamation prosecution that culminated in a two-year prison term served as the impetus for this action. The controversy centered on Gandhi's comment on the surname "Modi."
On March 24, Gandhi was found to be ineligible, which resulted in his suspension from the lower house. However, the Supreme Court suspended his sentence, which allowed the Lok Sabha secretariat to rehire him as an MP.
rahul-gandhi" target="_blank">Rahul Gandhi considers the home at 12 Tughlaq Lane to be historically significant. After he won the 2004 Lok Sabha elections from the Amethi seat, it was given to him. Gandhi thanked the Indian people for their assistance as he reflected on his relationship to the home, saying, "The people of Hindustan gave me this house for 19 years. They have my gratitude. These days, expressing the truth has a cost. I'll cover the expense no matter what.
Early in July, rumors surfaced that Gandhi could think about moving into the old home of Sheila Dixit, the former chief minister of Delhi. Sandeep Dikshit, the son of Congresswoman Sheila Dixit, presently resides in this home in B2 Nizamuddin East in South Delhi.
rahul-gandhi" target="_blank">Rahul Gandhi intends to travel to his parliamentary district of Wayanad on August 12–13 as part of his effort to reassume his duties as a member of parliament. Given that it is Gandhi's first journey to Wayanad after being reinstated, the trip has special significance for the locals of the area. This information was provided by party general secretary KC Venugopal, who emphasized the significance of Gandhi's link to Wayanad. Venugopal tweeted, "Sh. @RahulGandhi ji will be in his constituency Wayanad on August 12-13! The triumph of democracy and the restoration of their voice to Parliament have thrilled the people of Wayanad! Rahul Ji is a part of their family, not simply an MP.

Gandhi had vacated the bungalow earlier this year and temporarily shifted to his mother Sonia Gandhi's residence in New Delhi after his disqualification from the Lok Sabha. His disqualification arose from a criminal defamation case in which he was sentenced to two years in jail for a comment involving the 'Modi' surname. The Supreme Court's stay on his conviction led to his reinstatement as a Member of Parliament (MP), resulting in the restoration of his former government residence.
