"Pune Man Robbed After Arranging Meeting With Online Date at Hotel"

A man who went to a hotel to 'date' a woman was robbed by her accomplice on the threats of lodging a complaint of rape.
The victim, a 37 year old man from Ghorpadi Gaon, lodged the FIR in this case at the Chandan Nagar police station on Friday. Police have booked the woman and her accomplice in this case under sections 394, 506, 34 of the Indian Penal Code and sections of the Information Technology (IT) Act.
Police said the victim interacted with the woman via a dating website on October 24. Later they moved to chatting on the telegram app. The woman asked him to book a room at a hotel in Kharadi where they would meet for a 'date'. But, when the victim came to the hotel room, a male accomplice of the woman arrived at the room and thrashed the victim. Police said the woman and her accomplice threatened to lodge a complaint of rape against the victim, and forced him to transfer Rs 20,000 to them through Google Pay.Police is investigating the case further.
