The Nagpur South West constituency has been a consistent stronghold for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) with Devendra Gangadharrao Fadnavis being the dominant candidate in the recent elections.

In the 2019 elections Fadnavis secured 109,237 votes easily defeating INC candidate Dr. Ashish Deshmukh who garnered 59,893 votes. Fadnavis’s victory margin was a significant 49,344 votes underscoring his strong political

In 2014 Fadnavis claimed victory with 113,918 votes surpassing INC's Prafulla Vinod Gudadhe (Patil) who secured 54,976 votes. The margin of victory was a large 58,942 votes solidifying BJP's influence in Nagpur South West.
This election marked the beginning of Fadnavis’ dominance in the constituency a trend that continued in subsequent elections. Overall Nagpur South West has been a BJP-dominated constituency with Devendra Fadnavis consistently winning by large margins in the last three election cycles.
The counting of votes will take place on November 23 2024. In this year's election the Mahayuti alliance comprising of BJP Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar-led NCP have selected Suvarna Devendra Gangadhar Fadnavis while Maha Vikas Aghadi comprising of Congress
