BJP leader and former Karnataka minister Manohar Tahsildar passed away at a private hospital in Bengaluru on Wednesday.

Party sources confirmed that Tahsildar was undergoing treatment for an unspecified illness and is survived by four sons two daughters and other family members.

Tahsildar was elected four times to the Hangal Assembly constituency and served as a minister in the first Siddaramaiah-led Congress government from 2013 to 2018. After leaving the Congress he briefly joined the JD(S) in 2023 before joining the BJP later that

Tahsildar's political career also included serving as Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Assembly during S.M. Krishna's tenure as Chief Minister.

Several prominent political figures have expressed their condolences including Chief Minister Siddaramaiah former Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and BJP state president B.Y. Vijayendra.
