Telangana / Hyderabad :
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy issued a stern warning against individuals obstructing the Metro Rail expansion into the Old City, emphasizing that such interference would result in external measures. His statement came alongside the unveiling of the '2050 Vibrant Telangana master plan,' aimed at encompassing areas within the Outer Ring Road (ORR) for comprehensive urban development.
While refraining from direct accusations, Revanth Reddy hinted at political influence hindering the Metro Rail project, urging collaboration for the city's progress. At events in Uppal and LB Nagar, he highlighted the recent inauguration of a second-level flyover at Bairamalguda junction and two sewerage treatment plants as part of ongoing development efforts.
Revanth Reddy revealed that he and MIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi had laid the foundation stone for the Metro Rail expansion in Chandrayangutta, underscoring their commitment to the city's growth. However, he criticized unnamed politicians for attempting to halt the project through external channels, urging cooperation instead of obstruction.
Discussing the '2050 Vibrant Telangana master plan,' Revanth Reddy announced plans to merge municipal corporations and municipalities within the ORR, signaling a comprehensive approach to urban planning. He highlighted the involvement of international consultants and the forthcoming public consultation phase to solicit feedback on the master plan.
The Chief Minister outlined a vision for equitable growth across Hyderabad, emphasizing the development of radial roads connecting the ORR and the Regional Ring Road (RRR). He envisaged a Rural Telangana model for areas beyond the RRR, aiming for balanced growth across the region.
Revanth Reddy also addressed Musi river development, detailing plans for a 55-km stretch within the ORR to be upgraded to international standards with significant investment. He pledged to revive over 50,000 acres adversely affected by pollution in the Musi river, demonstrating a commitment to environmental sustainability.
Responding to developmental requests from BRS MLAs, Revanth Reddy assured prompt action and instructed officials to prioritize the identified works. He reiterated the government's resolve to combat land encroachment and resolve longstanding issues, drawing on his familiarity with local challenges from his tenure as MP from Malkajgiri.
At the LB Nagar event, Revanth Reddy emphasized his personal connection with the people, citing familial ties to the Assembly segment and affirming his dedication to addressing their concerns.
