BJP Urges Election Commission to Act Against Rahul Gandhi for "Match-Fixing" Remarks

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has demanded decisive action from the Election Commission in response to Congress leader rahul-gandhi" target="_blank">Rahul Gandhi's controversial remarks, including allegations of "match-fixing," made during an INDIA bloc rally held recently.

A delegation from the BJP, comprising Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and the party's national general secretary Arun Kumar, formally lodged a complaint against rahul-gandhi" target="_blank">Rahul Gandhi with the Election Commission, urging stringent measures against him.

Speaking to the media following their meeting with Election Commission officials, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri expressed strong objections to rahul-gandhi" target="_blank">Rahul Gandhi's statements, labeling them as "extremely objectionable" and a clear violation of the model code of conduct. Puri emphasized the seriousness of Gandhi's comments, highlighting their potential ramifications.

During the public meeting, rahul-gandhi" target="_blank">Rahul Gandhi allegedly remarked that the ongoing Lok Sabha polls were akin to a "fixed match" and insinuated that the Central government had influenced the Election Commission. He also reportedly questioned the credibility of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and suggested that the Constitution could be altered after the elections.

"We urged the Election Commission to take the strictest action against rahul-gandhi" target="_blank">Rahul Gandhi, other Congress leaders, and those associated with the opposition's INDIA alliance," stated Puri.

Arun Kumar echoed Puri's sentiments, accusing rahul-gandhi" target="_blank">Rahul Gandhi of repeatedly making inflammatory comments. He called upon the Election Commission to consider restricting Gandhi's ability to speak during the Lok Sabha elections, expressing skepticism that Gandhi would cease making such remarks voluntarily.

The BJP's complaint underscores the growing tension between political parties as the election season progresses, with parties vying for electoral advantage while navigating a landscape fraught with controversy and contention.
