BJP Clinches Eight Rajya Sabha Seats in Uttar Pradesh, Heralding Victory in Upcoming Elections

India / Uttar Pradesh :

In the recent Rajya Sabha polls in Uttar Pradesh, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured victory on eight seats, while the Samajwadi Party (SP) managed to secure wins on two seats. Uttar Pradesh BJP MLC Mohsin Raza expressed confidence, stating that the victory on these seats symbolizes the party's readiness for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

The victorious BJP candidates include former Union Minister RPN Singh, Chaudhary Tejveer Singh, Amarpal Maurya, Sangeeta Balwant, Sudhanshu Trivedi, Sadhna Singh, Naveen Jain, and Sanjay Seth. Additionally, SP candidates Jaya Bachchan and Ramji Lal Suman registered victories, while Alok Ranjan suffered defeat.

Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya hailed the outcome, affirming its positive impact on the party's future prospects in both Lok Sabha and state assembly elections. He emphasized that the BJP's success in the Rajya Sabha polls would continue in subsequent elections.

Mohsin Raza echoed this sentiment, emphasizing that the BJP's preparation extends beyond the eight Rajya Sabha seats to the 80 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh. He confidently predicted victory on all 80 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath felicitated the eight BJP candidates for their victories. Meanwhile, allegations of cross-voting surfaced, prompting responses from both BJP and SP leaders. Maurya denied allegations of influencing party members, suggesting that voting decisions were based on individual convictions.

SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav warned of disciplinary action against MLAs suspected of cross-voting, attributing their actions to external pressures. The term for Rajya Sabha MPs is six years, with elections held every two years for 33% of the seats, making the outcome of these polls significant ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
