Meteorological Department Warns of Intense Rainfall and Flooding in Maharashtra, Echoes 2005 Deluge
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued warnings of intense rainfall and potential flooding in Maharashtra due to the convergence of multiple meteorological systems. The West Coast, including Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, and Vidarbha regions, is expected to experience heavy to very heavy showers in the coming days. The forecast has raised concerns, particularly as the state grapples with a 50% surplus in rainfall for July, bringing back memories of the severe storm and deluge that struck Mumbai on July 26, 2005.
