Rahul Gandhi Re-allotted Former Government Bungalow Following Supreme Court Directive
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has been re-allotted his previous government bungalow at 12, Tughlaq Lane, a day after his reinstatement as a Lok Sabha member in compliance with a Supreme Court order. Gandhi had vacated the bungalow earlier this year and temporarily shifted to his mother Sonia Gandhi's residence in New Delhi after his disqualification from the Lok Sabha. His disqualification arose from a criminal defamation case in which he was sentenced to two years in jail for a comment involving the 'Modi' surname. The Supreme Court's stay on his conviction led to his reinstatement as a Member of Parliament (MP), resulting in the restoration of his former government residence.
