World Bank Offers Full Support to Flood-Hit Himachal Pradesh for Reconstruction Efforts

The World Bank has extended its complete support to the flood-affected state of Himachal Pradesh, offering assistance in conducting a comprehensive assessment of damages across various sectors. The assessment, in collaboration with the Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery (GFDRR), aims to quantify losses in roads, power, water supply, housing, agriculture, and other areas. The bank also stands ready to provide technical aid for recovery and reconstruction, disaster risk management, infrastructure design, ecosystem services, and livelihood resilience. Himachal Pradesh's Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has expressed gratitude for the World Bank's support, and the proposed assessment is expected to play a pivotal role in the state's reconstruction efforts.
