Congress Revokes Suspension of Three Jharkhand MLAs Involved in Cash Haul Case
The Congress party has lifted the suspension of its three Jharkhand MLAs who were allegedly caught with a large amount of cash in West Bengal's Howrah district last year. Jamtara MLA Irfan Ansari, Khijri legislator Rajesh Kachchap, and Kolebira MLA Naman Bixal were under suspension since July the previous year after their arrest in a cash haul case. Congress President Rajesh Thakur announced the revocation of their suspension, stating it was on the direction of the party's Jharkhand in-charge, Avinash Pandey. The suspension was imposed after ₹49 lakh in cash was found in their car during a police interception on National Highway 16. The Congress had previously accused the BJP of attempting to topple its coalition government in Jharkhand due to the incident.
