Indian Government Directs States to Ban Sale and Breeding of 23 Ferocious Dog Breeds
The central government of India has instructed states and Union Territories to prohibit the sale and breeding of 23 breeds of ferocious dogs, including Pitbull Terrier, American Bulldog, Rottweiler, and Mastiffs. The Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying highlighted the dangers posed by these breeds and urged sterilization of existing pets to curb breeding.
