Bharatiya Janata Party Appoints Anil Antony and Tariq Mansoor as Vice Presidents, Makes Key Leadership Changes
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has made significant leadership changes, appointing Anil Antony and Tariq Mansoor as Vice Presidents. Anil Antony, the son of senior Congress leader AK Antony, had previously resigned from all party posts in the Congress, citing reasons of "growing intolerance and sycophancy in the organisation." Tariq Mansoor, former AMU vice-chancellor, had stepped down from his position when nominated as a member of the UP Legislative Council. These appointments indicate the BJP's efforts to reach out to Pasmanda Muslims in Uttar Pradesh. Additionally, the list includes 13 vice-presidents, nine general secretaries, and 13 secretaries, with some leaders being dropped from their positions. The changes are aimed at strengthening the party ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
