"Youngster Steals Motorcycles for Romantic Joyrides With Girlfriend"

Nagpur: A 21-year-old youth nabbed by the crime branch for bike thefts had stolen the two-wheelers to be able to enjoy a spin with his girlfriend, and spend on her while on dates. Ajay Sarwan, 21, arrested along with Sajik alias Sajid Kalmani, 23, and Aman Paraye, 19, is learnt to have gone to meet his girlfriend at Kuhi a couple of months ago. Paraye too was with him. On the way back from Kuhi, Sarwan and Paraye stole two bikes. The crime branch team, led by senior PI Baburao Raut and assistant PI Gajanan Chambhare have found the bikes.
Paraye, who worked at a hostel for medical students in Sakkardara, had befriended Kalmani, who delivers tiffins. The two had then started stealing bikes. They had also stolen bikes from the parking of a hospital. Paraye and the gang had most targetted bikes at different places in the southern part of the city before they were nabbed on the basis of CCTV footage. "The gang would zero in on a particular automobile company's bikes, whose handle locks can be broken casily. They also knew how the ignition could be manipulated by directing the electrical connections to the ignition system," said a policeman.
