Wipro, the global information technology, consulting, and business process services company, announced the departure of its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Thierry Delaporte, effective immediately. Delaporte's decision to leave the company is attributed to his desire to pursue passions outside of the workplace. In a notification to the exchanges, Wipro confirmed that Srini Pallia, the CEO for the company's Americas 1 area, will succeed Delaporte as the new CEO and Managing Director from April 7.

Expressing gratitude for Delaporte's leadership, Wipro's chairman Rishad Premji acknowledged the positive changes implemented under Delaporte's tenure. These changes included optimizing the company's structure, enhancing leadership, prioritizing partnerships, and improving overall efficiency.

Thierry Delaporte assumed the role of CEO and Managing Director of Wipro on July 6, 2020, bringing with him extensive experience from his previous role at Capgemini group, where he served as CEO and member of the executive board during his 25-year tenure. Delaporte succeeded Abidali Neemuchwala as CEO, who had departed from the leadership role on June 1, 2020.

Delaporte's departure adds to a series of high-profile exits from Wipro in recent times. Last September, the company's chief financial officer, Jatin Pravinchandra Dalal, stepped down after a 21-year-long career at Wipro. He was succeeded by Aparna C Iyer.

The transition in leadership marks a significant moment for Wipro as Srini Pallia assumes the role of CEO and Managing Director. With Pallia's extensive experience and leadership in the Americas 1 area, Wipro aims to continue its strategic growth and navigate challenges in the evolving technology landscape.
