Iyer had led the franchise to their third IPL title in 2024 after missing the entire 2023 season due to a back injury.
The 29-year-old was originally bought by KKR in 2022 for 12.25 crore. He took over the role of captain after seven seasons with Delhi Capitals(DC).
Iyer’s IPL captaincy journey began in 2018 when he succeeded Gautam Gambhir mid-season at Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals).
Kiran Kumar Grandhi serves as chairman and co-owner of the Delhi Capitals an IPL team. A Commerce graduate and the younger son of G M Rao he has been a part of the GMR Group GMR Group Board since 1999.
Grandhi has been instrumental in securing several major infrastructure projects for the GMR Group particularly through Public-Private Partnerships with both the Central and State governments. As the former Chairman of Urban Infrastructure & Highways Grandhi managed a significant portfolio of around 1,200 kilometers of highways across 10 projects. Additionally he has been a key figure in expanding the GMR Group’s presence in sports notably through the acquisition and management of the Delhi Daredevils IPL team
Grandhi currently oversees the Group’s Finance and Corporate Strategic Planning divisions while continuing to lead its sports initiatives reinforcing his prominent role in both the infrastructure development and the sports business sector.
