A petrol bomb was hurled by unknown persons in the early hours of Saturday at a private theatre in Tirunelveli where the movie 'Amaran' is being screened.

Petrol bomb hurled at cinema

According to police two unknown persons hurled a petrol bomb in front of Alangar Cinemasat Melapalayam in Tirunelveli on Saturday early morning. However no one was injured as the premises were empty at the time.

The Sivakarthikeyan-starrer 'Amaran' is a biographical adaptation of the life of Army Major Mukund Varadarajan who was martyred during a military operation while on deputation to the 44th Rashtriya Rifles batta

Police are investigating various angles including whether the petrol bomb may have been hurled by miscreants opposing the movie.
