In front of a 70,000 packed crowd at the AT&T Stadium Paul defeated veteran heavyweight icon Paul in an eight-round battle by unanimous decision -- 80-72, 79-73 and 79-73.

And soon after defeating Tyson Paul hailed G.O.A.T saying it was an honour to fight against the 58-year-old and the legend has been an inspiration to him.

"First and foremost Mike Tyson it's such an honor. Let's give it up for Mike," Paul said after embracing Tyson following his victory.

He's the greatest to ever do it. He's the G.O.A.T. He's a legend. I'm inspired by him and we wouldn't be here today without him.

This man is an icon and it's just an honor to be able to fight him. He's obviously the toughest, baddest man on the planet; it was really tough like I expected it to be.

Just second before the end of the final round Paul also bowed down in front of Tyson as a mark of respect.

In the fight Paul used his superior speed and movement to dominate ageing Tyson with ease.

However Tyson was unable to land the knockout blow he promised during Thursday's ill-tempered weigh-in where Tyson slapped him across the face.

Tyson on the other hand managed only a handful of meaningful punches during the fight against Paul.

Final statistics showed Tyson connected 18 of his 97 thrown punches while Paul threw 278 punches and landed 78 of them.
