A 26-year-old woman teacher Ramani was stabbed to death inside the Mallipattinam Government Higher Secondary School in Thanjavur after she refused to marry him.
The accused, identified as Madhan (30), entered a classroom and attacked Ramani on the neck with a knife. She was rushed to Pattukkottai government hospital but succumbed to her injuries on the way.
Upon investigation it is revealed that Madhan and his family had met Ramani's family a few days ago and expressed their wish to get the duo married.
However Ramani was not interested in this arranged marriage proposal and rejected Madhan.
