Madhya Pradesh / Indore :

Six individuals have been arrested in connection with the theft of 30 pigs from a farm in Morod, with the total value of the stolen livestock estimated at Rs 3 lakh. The arrests were made by the Tejaji Nagar police following a complaint lodged by Gaja Jhanjhote, a resident of Ghanshyamdas Nagar, regarding the theft from his rented farm.

According to the complaint filed on April 4, Jhanjhote's brother Rahul discovered the disappearance of 30 pigs from the farm on April 1. Prompted by this discovery, the Tejaji Nagar police initiated an investigation and formed a team to pursue leads on the perpetrators.

During the course of their investigation, the police received information suggesting the involvement of two pick-up trucks near the farm on the day of the theft. Acting on this lead, the police apprehended six suspects identified as Sumit Tripathi, Rishi Dangar, Ravindra Pal, Pradeep, Vicky Kandare, and Tushar Pathrode.

All six accused individuals had prior criminal records and pending charges against them. Sumit Tripathi, during interrogation, admitted to his involvement in the theft along with his accomplices Tushar Pathrode, Vicky, and Munna. Additionally, Tripathi confessed to another incident of pig theft involving 60 pigs from Hatod, which occurred 15 days prior to the reported theft in Morod.

The police have successfully recovered the stolen pigs and seized the pick-up trucks used in the commission of the crime. Further legal proceedings will ensue as the investigation into the theft continues.
