A Romanian appeals court ruled Tuesday to exclude key evidence in the human trafficking case against Internet personalityAndrew Tate his brother Tristan and two Romanian female suspects.
The court found legal flaws in the indictment and violations of defendants’ rights ordering the removal of testimony from two alleged victims and statements from the Tate brothers.
This development is a setback for Romania’s anti-organized crime prosecutors who indicted the suspects in June 2023 with the trial initially scheduled to begin in April 2024.
Andrew Tate's attorney Eugen Vidineac called the ruling a “monumental victory” stating it demonstrates a lack of substantiated claims.
Tate, a controversial figure with dual US and British citizenship denied the allegations in a video posted on X.
