President Droupadi Murmu bestowed the prestigious Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian honor, upon veteran Bharatiya Janata Party leader and former Deputy Prime Minister L.K. Advani at his residence in a solemn ceremony on Sunday.
The event was graced by esteemed dignitaries including Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Advani's family members, as announced by the Rashtrapati Bhavan on social media platform X.
During the ceremony, President Murmu personally presented the Bharat Ratna to Advani, acknowledging his remarkable contributions to Indian politics and public service.
Born in Karachi in 1927, Advani migrated to India amidst the partition in 1947, and since then, he has dedicated over seven decades to serving the nation with unparalleled commitment and distinction, as highlighted by the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
