A plea was filed on Wednesday seeking a ban on the International Society for Krishna Consciousness(ISKCON) amidst rising attacks on the Hindu community and the arrest of monkChinmoy Krishna Das Brahmacharion

Chinmoy serves as president of Pundarik Dham and is a key figure in Bangladesh's Hindu community. He was detained on sedition charges while traveling from Dhaka to Chittagong an arrest that has sparked widespread condemnation in both Bangladesh

The court questioned the administration about its response to ISKCON's recent activities and directed Attorney General Md Asaduzzaman to brief them about the government's steps on the matter on Thursday.

After the presentation of two news reports about ISKCON by Supreme Court lawyer Moniruzzaman the HC bench comprising Justice Farah Mahbub and Justice Debasish Roy Chowdhury issued the directive.

The legal representative requested the court to order the authorities to ban ISKCON's functioning and declare an emergency in Chattogram and Rangpur to prevent further incidents.
