Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to Babasaheb Ambedkar on Tuesday as he addressed the 'Samvidhaan Divas' event at the Supreme Court.

I extend my greetings to all citizens on the occasion of Constitution Day Constitution Day. I bow respectfully to the Constitution and the members of the Constituent Assembly," Modi said.

Modi described the Constitution as a guiding light and said that it has met the country's every need and expectation.

The Prime Minister also paid tribute to those who lost their lives in the 26/11 terror attacks stressing India's commitment to combating terrorism under BJP rule.

Modi further said that the Constitution is now fully implemented in Jammu and Kashmir and noted the historic occasion of the Constitution Day being celebrated there for the first time.

It is because of Babasaheb's Constitution that Jammu and Kashmir celebrated Constitution Day for the first time today marking a historic moment for the region.''
