Lalit Salve a constable from the district ofBeed cast his vote for the first time as a male voter during the state assembly elections on Wednesday.
Formerly Lalita Salve transitioned to a man after undergoing three sex-change surgeries between 2018 and 2020. Previously he had voted as a woman but his journey to update his voter ID required securing new documents including a government gazette
"Voting as a male voter affirms my human rights in India," Salve said.
