A review meeting of Haryana tourism was held on Wednesday at Red Bishop in Panchkula to discuss strategies for revitalizing the tourism sector and addressing financial losses incurred by Haryana Tourism Corporation.
Key proposals included transforming Yadavindra Gardens in Pinjore into a wedding destination, promoting Kurukshetra as a religious tourism hub and establishing museums to showcase Haryana’s religious and historical legacy. Projects under the Swadesh Darshan Scheme 2.0 were highlighted including the development of an Adventure Tourism Hub at Tikkar Taal
Ongoing projects were also reviewed including the Mahabharata Anubhav Kendra at Jyotisar the Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Memorial at Lohgarh the Mahendragarh-Madhogarh-Narnaul-Rewari tourism circuit and the Doshi Hills Ropeway project. Additionally the redevelopment of
Preparations for the 38th Surajkund International Crafts Mela2025 were a focal point with an emphasis on improving and digitalizing event processes. The Minister underscored the importance of digitalizing Haryana Tourism’s complexes to streamline room and banquet bookings
To further digitalization efforts the development of a new official website for Haryana Tourismis is underway. The platform aims to facilitate seamless online transactions and bookings, boosting footfall at tourism resorts.
Minister Sharma said that Haryana tourism resorts must adopt modern innovations to compete with contemporary hotels making them attractive destinations in the hospitality industry.
Senior officials including Kala Ramachandran principal secretary (tourism), Dr Shaleen director (tourism), Sunil Kumar MD HTC and other officers provided updates on the financial and operational status of tourist complexes, petrol pumps and institutes of hotel management across Haryana.
