The first thing that made me fall in love when I was here was the authentic, honest desire in the community to find out what else can I do?
What's really unique about the community here in India is that you have fire. Like you could burn down the whole city you know and you have so much. You have that desire for transformation. I see it in every single one of you. I see the opportunity that is not yet realised. And you're like, you want to become the thing.
She also stressed the importance of imagination and social sciences in the tech world. She recalled her role as Chief Diversity Equity and Inclusion Officer at Uber during 2017 and 2018 when there was a crisis where women drivers and riders were getting assaulted
"I remember going to the engineering team and asking them why they designed such an unsafe platform. They said it wasn't their intention to design an unsafe platform... This room full of mostly young 20-something men, heterosexual, straight, cisgender, didn't have the imagination to say what concerns would women have getting into a stranger's car that they've never met before
