New Delhi: Rising concerns over minority rights in Bangladesh Vishva Hindu Parishad criticised and questioned the integrity of global bodies such as the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) and UN for their inaction on the persecution of Hindus in the country.

In the wake of escalating reports of violence and discrimination against minority communities in Bangladesh voices of concern are emerging from various quarters. Vinod Bansal VHP spokesperson expressed deep concern over the treatment of Hindus and other minority groups in Bangladesh

The silence of UNHRC and UN in the entire Bangladeshi episode raises many questions on the integrity of these global bodies. They should have come forward. The way minorities including Hindus are being tortured are murdered and implicated in false legal cases Bangladesh soon will be turned into an Islamic country Bansal said.

The VHP spokesperson lashed out at opposition leaders and Islamic organisations in India saying: “The silence of opposition leaders, parties and Islamic organisations like Darul Uloom and Jamiat’s silence and the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) seems like they are protecting the Islamic jihad

The VHP has urged the Bangladeshi government to address these issues on humanitarian grounds and take stringent action against elements allegedly aiming to destabilise the nation and “turn the country into another Afghanistan through Talibani activities.”
