Vice President Kamala Harris' unsuccessful presidential bid did not provide a fee forcelebrity endorsements, a senior campaign official said.
"We do not pay. We have never paid any artist and performer," said Adrienne Elrod who held the position of senior adviser and senior spokesperson for the Harris campaign.
The campaign organised numerous concerts featuring prominent celebrities prior to Harris' electoral defeat by President-elect Donald Trump.
Various renowned performers including Lady Gaga Lady Gaga Katy Perry Katy Perry Christina Aguilera Ricky Martin Megan Thee Stallion Bruce Springsteen Jon Bon Jovi 2 Chainz and Mumford & Sons supported the Harris campaign aiming to encourage voter turnout among
Notable Grammy recipients Beyonce Beyonce Cardi B Cardi Band Jennifer Lopez made campaign appearances supporting Harris without performing which disappointed some supporters.
Elrod explained that Federal Election Commission regulations required the campaign to compensate fair market value for supplementary performance expenses including payments for band members and producers.
There are laws that have to be followed that we have followed religiously on this campaign," she said. The series of pre-election concerts reportedly cost the campaign approximately $20 million.

Both Winfrey and her production company maintained that the funds covered technical expenses including set design, lighting, audio-visual equipment, crew wages, producers and other necessities for the live town hall broadcast.
