"Five Flyovers Approved in Nagpur to Alleviate Traffic Congestion, State Allocates Rs 792 Crores for Project"

Nagpur: The state government has okayed almost 7800 crore to build five flyovers in the city to ease traffic congestion. City MLA Krishna Khopde said the government issued a GR dated October 19, which grants approval to the projects, which will provide better connectivity between differnt congested parts of the city.Khopde said, "Citizens face major problems while commuting from certain parts of the city to others, and hence the measures to ease the traffic were concieved. We made a demand for five overbridges or flyovers to Union minister Nitin Gadkari and deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis earlier this year."
He added that Maha Rail managing director Rajesh Jaiswal was then informed about the project by Gadkari and Fadnavis. Maha Rail Maharashtra Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd) is a joint venture between the state government and ministry of railways. While Maha Rail is primarily tasked with laying of railways tracks in the state, the joint venture is also authorized to carry out projects related to construction of Road Over Bridges (ROBs) in Maharashtra.
