Bengal govt will make it mandatory for all Swasthya Sathi-empanelled private hospitals to put up display boards at strategic location. s listing medical services available in the facility under the state's universal health scheme as well as patient entitlements and hospital obligations. e move follows multiple complaints against private hospitals on Swasthya Sathi refusal. is an inbuilt feature of the health scheme many private hospitals either do not comply or put up display boards at places that are not visible to patriots Once the circular is issued all medical facilities will have to toe the line.

"The guideline on the display boards is an inherent feature of the scheme but some hospitals tend to ignore it. We have also comm e across hospitals that put up display boards only during visits by health officials at the time of empanelment but remove them later. to strictly implement the display clause," a senior health official said. he display board and direct hospitals to put it up in a prominent place. Subhashis Datta, chief general manager operations at Ruby Hospital said: “We admit 200 to 270 patients every month under S wasthya Sathi through our help desk. In the absence of an official circular we are not very sure what kind of display board we need to put up. l wait for the notification.”
Bengal govt currently spends an average of 7 crore daily on about 6,500 patients under Swasthya Sathi. cataract surgeries and almost all other treatments are now covered under the scheme which was rolled out in 2017. Under the scheme patients receive dialysis and chemotherapy daily between 300 and 400 patients.
