As air quality in Delhi shows signs of improvement schools across the city remain closed with no further notice issued regarding their reopening. Earlier the Directorate had allowed physical classes for Class 10th and 12th students considering the upcoming board exams. However following a Supreme Court ruling the decision was reversed and all physical classes were suspended.

As of now schools have been instructed to conduct classes online with the heads of educational institutions ensuring that parents are informed promptly. The latest updates from the government have provided no clarity on when physical classes might resume.

While the air quality in Delhi has improved slightly with AQI levels dipping below the 300 mark on Monday morning the pollution levels still remain in the ‘poor’ category. This continues to be a concern for residents especially for children and elderly people.

The situation remains fluid and it is expected that the Delhi government will monitor air quality closely before making any decisions regarding the reopening of schools.
