Delhi Government Announces 'Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana' Ahead of Lok Sabha Elections

Ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the Aam Aadmi Party-led Delhi government announced a populist measure, introducing the 'Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana' in its budget for the financial year 2024-25. Under this scheme, every woman above 18 years of age will receive a monthly cash transfer of Rs 1000, aiming to empower women economically.
Delhi Finance Minister Atishi unveiled the scheme, highlighting its significance in supporting women's financial independence. The budget allocates Rs 2,714 crore for this initiative, reflecting the government's commitment to women's welfare and empowerment.

Additionally, substantial funds were earmarked for healthcare, with a total outlay of Rs 8,685 crore to improve hospital facilities and expand healthcare services.
