Brella's body was found in the boot of a car in Ilford east London in the early hours of Nov 14. Her husbandPankaj Lamba is the prime suspect in her murder and is believed to have fled
Detectives suspect Brella was murdered in Corby on Sunday evening by Lamba who then transported her body from Corby to Ilford in a silver Vauxhall Corsa. Lamba abandoned the vehicle in Ilford. The family last spoke to Brella by phone on 10 November. Her phone was off for the next two days and by 13
Brella (24) had had an arranged marriage to Lamba in India. Their legal marriage was in August 2023 and they had the traditional Indian ceremony on March 22 this year before they moved to the UK at the end of April and settled in Corby.
Brella's father Satbir Brella said Brella was a serious young woman who had wanted to be a teacher in India and used to tutor children in Delhi.
"I want my son-in-law to be brought to justice and I want my daughter's body brought home," he said.
Last Aug Brella had phoned her father to tell him she had left Lamba as he had hit her sister Sonia Dabas said.
She said he was hitting her and she escaped. She ran out on the streets he chased after her and hit her there as well. They then lived in separate houses in Corby.
Brella was the subject of a domestic violence protection order made by the courts in early September which lasted 28 days which prevented Lamba from pestering her. Critics have questioned the duration of the order and whether the order
Dabas said Brella complained there were "restrictions on everything" and she was not allowed to wear make-up or nice clothes in the UK.
She said Harshita "did not live a very happy life in London" and "struggled because of her husband and she asked her to come back to India.
Why did the police not give her counselling?

Her mother Sudesh Kumari also sobbing as she spoke said: "I just want justice. I want him to be caught. To be hanged. It has been a long time since I saw her. I want to see her once
A forensic postmortem examination carried out at Leicester Royal Infirmary on Friday gave the preliminary cause of death as strangulation police said.
