In an action-packed opening day at the auction in Jeddah DC made some bold moves, securing several high-profile players to strengthen their squad.

The franchise delivered a major surprise by utilizing the Right to Match option to reclaim Australian batter Jake Fraser-McGurk for a staggering 9 crore.

The 22-year-old made a memorable debut last season and showed his explosive potential in one of the matches against Lucknow SuperGiants.

By the end of the season Fraser-McGurk had accumulated an impressive 330 runs in nine innings at a phenomenal strike rate of 234.

Ahead of the auction DC retained four core players -- Axar Patel (16.50 crore), Kuldeep Yadav (13.25 crore), Tristan Stubbs (10 crore) and Abhishek Porel (4 crore).

DC now have 13 players in the squad including 4 overseas players and have 13.80 crore remaining in their purse to complete their squad.

Ahead of the mega auction JSW-GMR co-owned DC also announced the appointment of their new coaching staff with former India cricketers Hemang Badani and Venugopal Rao joining the franchise as Head Coach (IPL) and Director of Cricket
