China :

China has lodged a diplomatic protest with India over Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent visit to Arunachal Pradesh, reiterating its claim over the region and asserting that India's actions will complicate the unresolved boundary question.

PM Modi dedicated the Sela Tunnel in Arunachal Pradesh, a significant infrastructure project aimed at providing all-weather connectivity to strategically important areas like Tawang. The tunnel, constructed at an altitude of 13,000 feet, is expected to facilitate better movement of troops and weaponry along the border with China.

China, which claims Arunachal Pradesh as South Tibet, routinely objects to visits by Indian leaders to the region. Beijing has named the area as Zangnan and consistently protests against Indian leaders' visits to highlight its territorial claims.

However, India has firmly rejected China's claims over Arunachal Pradesh, asserting that it is an integral part of the country. Indian leaders, including PM Modi, visit Arunachal Pradesh regularly, treating it like any other state in India.

Responding to China's protest, India's Foreign Ministry spokesperson reaffirmed India's position on Arunachal Pradesh, emphasizing that objecting to visits by Indian leaders does not hold any merit. India reiterated that Arunachal Pradesh has always been and will continue to be an integral and inalienable part of India.

Despite China's objections, India remains committed to its developmental projects and visits to Arunachal Pradesh, maintaining its stance on the region's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
