In the inaugural clash of the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL), Chennai Super Kings emerged victorious over Royal Challengers Bangalore in a thrilling encounter.

Batting first, Royal Challengers Bangalore faced early setbacks as they were reduced to 78-5, despite a solid start provided by openers Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli. However, a resilient partnership between Dinesh Karthik (38 not out) and Anuj Rawat (48) propelled them to a competitive total of 173-6. Mustafizur Rahman was the pick of the bowlers for Chennai, claiming four crucial wickets for 29 runs.

However, it was Shivam Dube's unbeaten 38 and a valuable knock from Ravindra Jadeja (25 not out) that guided Chennai to victory with six wickets in hand and 8 balls to spare.

The match witnessed some stellar performances, with Mustafizur Rahman showcasing his bowling prowess for Chennai and Karthik and Rawat displaying their batting prowess for Bangalore.

Both teams displayed competitive cricket, setting the stage for an exciting season ahead in the IPL 2024 tournament.
