Champions Trophy: PoK cities removed from ICC's global Trophy Tour

The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Saturday announced the global trophy tour of the 2025 Champions Trophy Champions Trophy which did not feature the Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) cities as mentioned earlier by host nation Pakistan.

The Indian Cricket Board BCCI had raised strong objection to Pakistan Cricket Board's move where they had said that the trophy tour will take place in Skardu Hunza and Muzaffarabad -- in PoK.

The global governing body then put the tour on hold and released a new roster on Saturday where the PoK cities were not included for the tour.

It was reported that BCCI secretary Jay Shah Jay Shahon Friday spoke to the ICC top brass and condemned the PCB for the PoK move.

During the tour the prestigious trophy will travel to eight participating countries for fans.

The tour will start from Islamabad in Pakistan from November 16 and the trophy will return to the country on January 27.

Earlier the PCB announced on its official social media handle that it would take the Trophy to the disputed territory without prior knowledge of all stakeholders.

The Champions Trophy was last held in 2017 in England and was won by Pakistan.

The formal schedule of the eight-team tournament for the 2025 edition is in limbo after the BCCI decided not to travel to Pakistan due to security concerns.

The PCB has so far not agreed to host it under a hybrid model.
