The first season of Arcane was groundbreaking in that it proved video game adaptations could work and quickly became a fan favorite. Here the two sisters voiced by Hailee Steinfeld and Ella Purnell struggled to make their way through the brutal war between their opposing factions. Marc Merrill creator of League of Legends said there were internal discussions about "approving five seasons" and earmarking funds for development but that this was not an indication of an ongoing commitment to the show. Co-creator Christian Linke also spoke about planned ending in an interview with 'Variety' confirming that the show was always intended to be a two-season story from its conception.
