Deb's statement comes amid calls from BJD colleagues for a thorough probe in the allegations originating from the US SEC that Adani Green Energy paid Rs 2,029 crore in kickbacks to unnamed officials across several states to get discoms to sign purchase agreements with SECI at a rate higher than the market

He explained the state's green energy procurement process that Odisha procured 500MW of solar power exclusively through SECI a central PSU. The bulk supplier Gridco handles transactions with SECI subject to approval from Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission

BJD MLA Prasanna Acharya who is the deputy LoP in the assembly said a fair inquiry could reveal what exactly happened.
