Nagpur: There was panic among security personnel when there were indications of a bomb in an unclaimed bag at the airport on Sunday afternoon. An alarm was raised while the machine was checking this bag. After this, taking it seriously, CISF and city police conducted a thorough investigation and declared the bag safe and it was handed over to the airport management. At around 2.30 pm on Sunday afternoon, a passenger informed CISF about an abandoned bag kept in the car parking area of the airport. It was stated that the movement of Dy CM Devendra Fadnavis was also around this time. As soon as the information was received, the bomb disposal squad of CISF reached the spot and examined the black trolley bag kept near the car. During investigation with EVD (explosive vapor detector) alarm was raised. After this, when the dog squad was sent, the dogs did not give any indication. The security agency did not want to leave any stone unturned in the investigation.
Therefore ETD (explosive trace de tection) was also done, nothing suspicious was found in it either. Due to the incident taking place outside the airport operational area, CISF also informed the city police. The police also declared the bag safe after conducting a thorough investigation as per the prescribed standard.
