Seven passengers including a newlywed couple and an auto driver were killed Saturday when a Creta car rammed into the auto they were traveling in.
Of the seven victims six belonged to the same family. They had traveled to Jharkhand to celebrate a wedding function and were returning home with the newlywed couple when the accident happened.
The deceased were identified as Khurshid (65), his son Vishal (25) from Tibra village under Dhampur police station daughter-in-law Khushi (22) from Jharkhand Mumtaz (50), Rubi (35) and Bushra (14) from Khari village under Haldaur police station and
According to Bijnor Superintendent of Police Abhishek Jha six members of the family had traveled to Jharkhand for Vishal's wedding and returned by train which arrived in Moradabad at 1:30 a.m. The family hired an auto-rickshaw and was en route to their native village Tibra
The Creta car hit their auto from behind on Dhampur Nagina Road. Upon receiving information about the accident local police rushed to the scene and transported the victims to Dhampur Hospital. Tragically all six family members were declared brought dead. The auto driver Ajab Singh who was initially admitted
The car driver Sohail Alvi and his friend Aman were also injured in the incident. They are currently in hospital and their condition is reported to be critical.
According to the SP a case is being registered against the driver based on a complaint filed by the deceased's family members.
Yogi Adityanath Chief Minister Yogi Adityanathhas taken note of the road accident in Bijnor district.
He expressed his condolences to the bereaved families of the deceased and directed district administration officials to ensure proper treatment for the injured and expedite the relief work at the scene.
