Mike Tyson is gearing up for a highly anticipated return to the boxing ring as he faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul on November 15 2024.
One of the viral moments leading up to the fight included Tyson's statements during an interview with a young journalist named Jazzy.
In the interview Tyson dismissed the concept of "legacy" claiming it is merely a term associated with ego. He expressed that once a person dies life becomes meaningless and that worrying about legacy is pointless
I just think that’s another word for ego. Legacy doesn't mean nothing. That's just a word everyone grabbed onto. Somebody said that word and everyone grabbed not the word so now it's used every five seconds.
Iron Mike also said: "I'm a die and I want people to think that I'm this, I'm great? No. We're dead. We're dust. We're absolutely nothing. Our legacy is nothing."
His comment led rapper 50 Cent 50 Centto humorously comment on social media that Tyson was "scaring the kids" with his blunt honesty.
Earlier during the official weigh-ins tensions flared between him and Paul Tyson slapped Paul across the face after a perceived slight during their face-off which led to some drama at the event.
This incident prompted 50 Cent to share an older clip of Tyson discussing his dislike for people stepping on his feet.
As Tyson prepares for this fight he has a professional record of 50 wins and 6 losses with 44 knockouts while Jake Paul has a record of 10 wins and 1 loss mainly fighting former MMA fighters and other non-boxers.
The fight will take place at AT&T Stadium in Arlington Texas and is expected to attract a large audience especially since it will be streamed exclusively on Netflix.
